Free Password Generator
Generate a strong, random password right here in your browser: pick a length, pick the character groups, and copy the result. Nothing you generate is sent anywhere or stored.
Estimated entropy: 0 bits — —
Entropy formula: bits = length × log2(character set size). Strength scale used here: under 40 bits Weak, 40–59 Fair, 60–79 Strong, 80 or more Very strong.
Frequently asked questions
Are my passwords sent to a server?
No. Passwords are generated in your browser with your device's cryptographic random number generator, and nothing is sent to any server. This page loads no external scripts, fonts, or analytics.
How is password strength measured?
By estimated entropy: bits = password length × log2(character set size). More bits means more guesses an attacker would need on average. A password with 80 or more bits is rated Very strong on this page.
What characters can a generated password include?
Uppercase letters A–Z, lowercase letters a–z, digits 0–9, and symbols. You can toggle each group on or off, set the length from 8 to 64 characters, and optionally exclude ambiguous characters.
Why exclude ambiguous characters?
Characters like 0 and O, or 1, l and I, look alike in many fonts and are easy to mistype when you read a password aloud or copy it by hand. Excluding them removes that confusion.
Should I reuse a generated password across accounts?
No. Use a unique password for every account, and store them in a password manager. A strong password only protects the account it belongs to.
